The Law Firm Pro Bono Project is the only global effort designed to support and enhance the pro bono culture and performance of major law firms in the United States and around the world. The Project's goal is to fully integrate pro bono into the practice, philosophy, and culture of firms so that larger law firms provide the institutional support, infrastructure, and encouragement essential to fostering a climate supportive of pro bono service and promoting partner and associate participation.

The Project is guided in its work by an Advisory Committee composed of the chairs, executive and managing partners, and senior partners of major law firms.

Project services and products are uniquely tailored and available to larger law firms with 50 or more attorneys. Every large law firm receives a subscription to the Project's bi-monthly newsletter, What's New in Law Firm Pro Bono, and is eligible to attend the Project's Annual Seminar, convocations, and other training programs. Member Law Firms support the Project's work through annual dues and receive a wide range of free and discounted services. Member law firms receive international recognition for their support of pro bono, confidential consultative services, tailored surveys and cutting-edge information, deeply discounted or free materials, educational programming, and unparalleled opportunities to develop connections with peers at other major firms, in-house counsel, and public interest leaders. Law firms that elect not to become members may receive assistance and materials from the Project on a fee-for-service basis.

The Project designed, implemented, and administers the Law Firm Pro Bono ChallengeSM, a series of aspirational goals uniquely tailored to the resources and practice of major law firms. It produces and disseminates surveys geared to topics of particular interest to large law firms, as well as a wide range of monographs, law review articles, and other cutting-edge publications, and it maintains a comprehensive clearinghouse of information, materials, and best practices on law firm pro bono. The Annual Pro Bono Seminar and other training programs are universally regarded as the seminal events for major law firms seeking to establish or enhance their pro bono programs.
